Menus and Menoirs of a Yacht Chef

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

I've had the pleasure of dining with Marianne twice in the Bahamas. On the first occasion I arrived with fresh caught grouper and nothing else. Marianne, working in someone else's kitchen, and without any notice, turned that grouper into a delightful appetizer and never skipped a beat.

On the second occasion, we dined in a local bahamian diner. Marianne brought her signature key lime pie and the pie plate was cleaned out before the coffee could arrive.

An adaptable cookbook with true stories as an added bonus
By Susan

Anyone who has lived on a boat, with unexpected shortages of ingredients, knows the importance of being flexible. Marianne Gardner's recipes are totally adaptable for unusual pantry contents combined with the varied needs and wants of many people. The recipes are easy to follow, the menus are creative but not over-done, and the results are delicious.

The stories of world-wide travels of a Yacht-Chef are interesting and well written. This book is a great gift for any cook, especially those who have cruised the seas or cooked on boats.

First Class!
By Carol C.

Really very excited about this book — not only are the stories of the life of a yacht chef great but the menus and recipes are GRAND. I love the idea of the whole menu with wine pairings and the way she writes is easy to understand and put the meal together. Made the grilled lamb chops and the Basil Penne pasta the other night and it was fantastic. I usually ditch cookbooks if I only make a few of the recipes — this book is definately going to be a keeper. Need to buy a couple more soon for gifts!
